& Take” Workshops
Today TLC
Vintage Collection is thrilled to introduce our new series of “Make & Take”
workshops. What is Make & Take? More fun and creative ways to learn paint
and product techniques. Instead of working just on practice boards, in each
class you will create one or more pieces of home décor. Plus, during dry times,
we will find time to cover and practice other techniques in the same product
line or combo of products. Sounds great? There’s more. We have done a thorough
research of materials for these workshops and have lowered prices accordingly.
We will continue to offer some technique only workshops that are very popular –
Chalk Paint 101 and Kitchen Cabinets. But we think you will find the new
workshops are a great way to get out with friends and create something
beautiful! See end of this newsletter for our revised and upcoming workshops!

Problems Painting Inexpensive New Furniture: Ever have this happen? Buy an inexpensive piece of Target, IKEA or other
big box store furniture and have the wet paint instantly separate into a
crocodile skin type pattern? It is the
response of water based Chalk Paint® by Annie Sloan to coatings used on many of
these pieces to protect it from scratching, or insects, or even fire
retardants. Oil and water don't mix, and this separation happens often on
inexpensive or imported furniture which has an oily finish or coating. To
create a surface the paint can adhere to, use a good degreaser on a scratchy
sided sponge and clean the piece thoroughly, then wash with soap and water and
rinse. Usually this is enough to remove the oily coating.
Repairing Cracks,
Missing Veneer or Chipped Furniture Feet: Solve
furniture condition issues - cracks, missing veneer, feet that have parts
chipped off, gouges and more - with Textura Paste by Wood Icing. Build up layers to replace missing trim and broken
appliqués too. Sand to match your surface. Once painted, only you will know!
Wood Icing Textura Paste is available in handy, economical 4 and 8 oz sizes to
keep on your workbench.

initial quick sellout! We won’t let that happen again….we promise. Bright and
intense this is a beautiful pop of color to spark up your interiors. Be sure to
ask us for an adhesive color swatch to add to your color chart.

are sworn to silence but they are bound to be a huge hit! Watch Facebook for

Custom Painting
TLC Vintage
does custom painting in our own workshop. We can only handle one piece at a
time. But if our schedule doesn’t work with yours, we have numerous customers
who do custom painting and will be happy to refer you to any of them to meet
your timeframe. Contact us for our rates and estimates. If you know someone
