Shabby Chic features at The Brass Armadillo -- TLC Vintage can do that!

Learned yesterday that once a month, The Des Moines Brass Armadillo is going to highlight Shabby Chic at the front of the store in a display. This weekends colors are white, plum and black. Well, heck, I can do that!

So distracted once more from completing the bedroom set project while I took on these two cuties! Once again out of the garage horde!

So Old White and Emile were applied first coat or two last night! Hoping they will get featured, otherwise, some more fresh stuff to the mall this week.

The good news is that so much furniture has come out of the garage this week, that I can rearrange and get the truck -- Old Grey -- in for shelter for first time since October! Good thing too, cold snowy weather is predicted starting tonight!

The faded and scarred sides and top are covered! And she matches so well with the bureau. The whimsey regarding the drawers continues with its lopsided hers-his ratio...

 One drawer for His, 4 for hers! Not quite half way through painting the bedstead, but may need to wait another day to get that completed....

Unveiling!

Not sure the colors are done justice in this photo. But must admit I'm having trouble with Dan! Everything I complete, he says "I think we should keep it!" LOL

I added a touch of whimsy which will follow through on the other pieces. Hope you can read each drawer!

We decided it best to complete other chest of drawers and bedstead before taking it to the mall. Onward....

Next up. Wax first piece of project

Limited time yesterday, but here are some photos at point where painting on this piece is finished, except possibly for some touchups, and waxing will occur next. I'm opting for primarily clear wax, but I may use dark in some areas...will decide as I go. That is the beauty of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and wax. Flexibility to change your mind and make adjustments as the piece "talks" to you! Also on the agenda, getting next piece into the house and prepped!

Meanwhile, exec decision by Dan. Do not sell the lamps! He loves this. This from a man who takes little interest in interior design, unless it is Husker red and comfortable! They do look perfect in our living room and my plans to Annie Sloan my interior!
